Question about dna testing

I recieved a message on facebook  today from a girl saying that she is pregnant by my brother.. My brother currently is in marine bootcamp then comes home for 10 days then leaves again for where.. we are not sure yet. Is their some where he can go so that they can test his blood or dna or whatever and keep it till december when the baby is born. He leaves for a year in nov. so he will be gone till the baby is almost a year old. I am trying to either help clear his name if its not is. Or if it is have him take responsiablity. Just wondering if they can keep his blood for that long thanks! for any advice.  oooo and the girl is 16 and my brother 20? yea so he may be in trouble if its his

Re: Question about dna testing

  • I'm sure that they can do that.

  • I have no idea.  I would call your local child support agency to see what their procedure is for someone stationed out of town in the military.
  • I am just wondering also does he go to his primary doc. or the clinic? or planned parenthood? not sure where to take him
  • I thought I heard about some kit you could get through the mail or something. Sorry, I don't know any of the details...

  • Wow.

I know that if you are planning on having an operation you can give blood way beforehand and they'll keep it until the operation in case you need a transfusion.  But he shouldn't even need to give blood for that, they can use a saliva sample and those are good for decades.

  • Well the only experience i have is from my cousin. He had to do it through the court
  • thanks LADIES.. I am just trying to help him take care of what may be his.. Of course my mom don't believe it. But he did tell me he slept with her and the last time he did and the months add up so it could be..

Where I live they do a saliva sample through the court.  When she files for child support, they would schedule a paternity hearing where he'd have to show up and give a saliva sample.  If he refuses or refuses to show up, the judge can order one.

  • I'm not quite clear on why you want his sample stored.

As long as the lab would run a sample before the baby is born--and I don't see why they wouldn't--your brother could submit his DNA and have it processed now.  Then when the baby is born, they could test the baby and compare your brother's results with the baby's.
