Why does my 2-year old reject me?

Many days he wants nothing to do with me. DH and I both work outside of the home. DS is in daycare and DH generally takes him in the morning. We both pick him up in the afternoon...but if DH picks him up, he starts crying when he sees me "No mommy!" "bye-bye- mommy" and physically tries to push me away:(....I don't understand why he does this as he does not do this with DH....it hurst my feelings and makes me feel like a bad mom :(...someone please tell me this is perfectly normal and it is just a stage! Anyone relate?

    My daughter acts that way towards my DH.  I usually take er to daycare ad pick her up, but DH fills in every now and then.  If I'm around she won't even let him give her a drink, she wants "mommy do it".  It breaks his heart because he just trys to play with her and she gets fresh.  She is also like that with my mother, but LOVES my father.  I wouldn't worry, I think it's just a "terrible 2" thing.  Sorry you are going through this :-(

    ds used to do this with dh.  He wanted me to do everything.  But now the past few weeks he's on a total daddy kick. Try not to take it to personally.

    It is a phase.  My girls are big time Mommy's girls but somedays, it is all about Daddy and I love those days.  DH always feels so bad when the girls only want me and there is nothing he can do to help or even let me go pee myself.  The worst is when we are out and I need to take one to the bathroom and the other has a total fit since they can't go with me too.  It does pass.  I swear, my 3 year old is finally out of that phase with me and my 1 1/2 year old is starting it in a bad way - to the point of if we are all in the car, she cars if I am not touching her.  It is hard but it does pass.,  Now my older DD has days where she is all about Mommy and days where its all Daddy and days where she is fine with either of us.
