in the northern area-we took them through the forest lake community ed program. that would be a great place to look--community education. price is right and such. a local Y? or rec club?
Foss swim schools are excellent but $$$. I am just taking mine through community ed. For a child that age they aren't so much swimming as geting aclimated to being in the water.
Our neighbors took their daughter to Foss, but they can afford it. We're taking our son to the Crapids Community Ed swim lessons. 6 weeks for $60, I think. Also, try the YMCA/YWCA!
Mom to Jace (7/2004), Cade (2/2009) and baby girl (5/2019)
I just took my 11 month old to her first swim class at the YMCA and she LOVED it. It was so much fun. It's $85 for 7 sessions for a non-member. I would recommend it.
We have been taking DD to Wise Swim School in Apple Valley since she was 6 months old and have been very happy with them. Small class size, nice warm pool, great instructors.
I think almost anywhere you go right now will already have started their Fall session, so you may have to wait until the Winter session starts to join a class.
We go to Foss and its great. Its expensive but so worth it. We had tried the TMCA with my older DD and really were not impressed at all and I have heard similar stories to our from other people. We go to the St Louis Park/Knollwood Foss and I know people that have gone to Maple Grove - all great reviews from everyone I know that has gone there.
