Please tell me it's a growth spurt...

I know that with infants it is sometimes 2 steps forward, 1 step back...but my lovely baby boy who was giving me some consistency every evening (still getting up twice to eat, but at around the same time) for almost 2 weeks has decided that he wants to eat about every 2 hours all day and all night the last two days.  Last night he went to bed at 9:00pm and then was up at 11:00pm, 1:15pm, 3:30pm, and again at 5:45pm.  He then woke up for the day around 8:30.  Every single time he wanted to eat and I have a very low milk supply because I have been prepping for my return back to work so I had to make him a few bottles in the middle of the night to keep him happy.

I just need reassurance that this too shall pass :) and it is probably just a growth spurt!

  • Oh yeah, been there for sure.  It usually does not last longer than a few days...Liam's never been a great sleeper, but the really crazy nights (up every 2 hours) usually only last a few days.

Hope you're able to take some naps during the day!

  • Babies typically have a growth spurt around 3 months.  I see your little guy is getting close to that.  Some babies have them exactly at 3 months (and at other expected times) but others do it on their own schedule.  Perhaps yours just has his own plan.  :-)  It usually doesn't last more than a few nights.  Good luck!
