NBR: Good Tapenade?
This is totally random, but I'm in a sleepy stupor and desperate.
I'm doing a dinner party thingy tonight and one of things I forgot to make is tapenade. I know it's super easy to make, but seeing as how I was up until 3am last night cooking everything else, I'm not interested in making ANYTHING else today.
Anyone know where I can snag some good off the shelf or deli tapenade? Or is it going to be more cost effective just to make it myself.
Ugh...I take back my answer on previous polls. I don't want a housekeeper. Right about now, I want a live-in personal chef! lol

Follow up question...I'm serving 100 people. Um, yeah. So I'm thinking I want enough tapenade for ~35-50 people. Is that gonna totally break me if I buy it from TJ's? Not sure how large their container is, but nothing there is ever big.

If you are near Central Market or any of their stores, call and order ahead. They can put it in a big container for you so you aren't buying out the stores. You could try that with TJ as well?
But if it were me, i'd throw some garlic black and green olives and some olive oil in a food processor and hit go.
So question...would it totally kill tapenade if I made it didn't use anchovies? Never NOT done that before.
I have no idea, but I give you MAD propz for doing a dinner party for 100 people.
I don't have the patience or the creativity for that kind of thing.

The good news is, it's a Tuscan style/Mediterranean theme so MOST of it can be ordered out or just "assembled." Lots of antipasto platters, pasta salads and that type of stuff. I also have HELP with other people making and bringing a few dishes, etc. But still, this is the LAST time I ever do anything else like this while 9 month pregnant...TRUST. LOL
