So I was about 10 lbs overweight before I got pregnant and had just started working out to try to get back on track. When I got pregnant I had bad morning sickness so the work outs ended. I always had large breasts (DDD) but now am wearing a 38 H. Yuck! I also have a twenty two pound 11month old that is walking but still needs to be carried alot. (not chubby just tall) I am a stay at home mom so I have to do housework and my back is FINISHED. I cannot stand up straight and it doesn't really hurt bad but it feels like I have someone standing on my shoulders and it is all in my lower back. I have never had back problems before this pregnancy. Any advice on what I can do ? Anyone else have this problem? Between the boobs and the big outside baby I am not sure what is doing it but I have been like this for two days now and I really need to get to the grocery store
Re: back pain question (poss TMI)
I'd say pop some tylenol and make a Chiropractor appointment.
I'm having some crazy sharp back pains in my lower back and stress in my shoulders too.
'Til He returns, or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I stand.
I'm not in exactly the same boat (my BB's aren't the same size as yours, and I don't have another baby), but I've had mild scoliosis since I was little and I'm also SAH.
I've found that when my back is just kaput, I ask DH do to the things that are involved in my cleaning that just make it worse (usually the steam mopping and/or the vacuuming). It doesn't completely alleviate my back issues, but it definitely helps. Also, when it was particularly bad (like I could hardly even move) I made sure to take Tylenol on a schedule and took warm baths at night. Of course, double check with your OB, but mine said that as long as I wasn't taking over the recommended amount that taking it on a schedule until my back felt better was fine. Maybe doing all of these things above could help you get a little relief from the pain? HTH! Feel better soon.
Long term - physical therapy.
Short term - a heating pad and some stretches. Lay flat on your back. Lift your left leg up straighht in the air for 30 seconds 6 times. Do the same with your right.
Also, Sit on the edge of your bed. Lift your left leg up and put your foot on your right knee. holding your leg cloer to your body bend forward at a 45 degree angle for 30 seconds, six times. Do the same with your right leg.
Stretching your legs like that pulls on the muscles in your lower back.
Good luck to you!
My solution was to sign up for prenatal yoga (for stretching), hire house cleaners and start sending DH to the store with the list.
A massage therapist once told me that ice packs are better than hot bath because they contract blood vessels. You might want to try that too.
