Today is day 2 back at work and it SUCKS! I sobbed all the way here and I was an hour late. It doesn't help that I dislike my job/boss. I know it's only day 2 and it's got to get better, but I can't seem to get on a schedule in the AM with nursing. At least that's what slowed me down today. Any advice? And please tell me it gets easier.

Re: How do you do it?
While it gets "easier", for me it's still difficult. Mondays are the worst since I have to go from all day Millie time on the weekend to work. Just build a shrine of photos, take time for yourself at work, and take it one day at a time. When dealing with a crappy boss or situation, just remember this isn't forever and you get to go home to your daughter at the end of the day. I frequently go to my "happy place" which is just picturing Millie when she first wakes up and sees me and starts jumping around smiling and laughing. Nothing can make me feel bad while I'm in my happy place.
Good luck and hang in there! The schedule will work itself out too, just give it time.

Oh Becca - so sorry! ((hugs))
YES, it gets better.
I'm a little different than you in that I like my job. But it's so tough. The a.m. schedule is really hard to manage at first. You'll fall into a pattern soon.
Really, truly just take it one day at a time. That's my mantra anymore. You can do it!
It does get easier, but I will tell you that the first week back for me sucked and some weeks still do. I have a stressful job, so that doesn't help much.
Until I got my routine down, I would wake up extra early just to be sure I got everything done (me ready, baby fed and dressed for the day, and all of the extra stuff packed and ready to go). I have been back almost 2 months and feel like I now have it down to a science!
I always make sure I have enough time to feed Tyson. I give it a full half hour, even if he only takes 15-20 minutes. That way, I know I have some good face time with him every morning. It helps me to relax, focus just on my baby and mentally prepare for the day.
((Hugs!)) It WILL get better.
