Anyone thinking about christmas shopping yet?
Got any good ideas for this year for your kiddo's?
For Audrey (at almost 2 1/2 at Christmas) I'm planning on getting her the white Doll Cradle from PBK (my Grandma will make her some bedding to go with it), some play food for her kitchen (like cookies, muffins etc....), some slippers then for her stocking, maybe some kind of kid chapstick (since she LOVES mine), but I've go no other ideas for her.
And for Ryan, (4 months at Christmas) I have NO ideas!
Anyone got any ideas I can steal? ^_^
Re: Christmas ideas?
Cruz was about 4.5mo at christmas the first year and we got him a few things but didn't go crazy! We got him lots of teethers that we kept in the fridge. A big woozit, and a little toolbench that lights up and makes noise when you push the buttons and I think he started sitting in his saucer around then!
For Audrey what about dress-up dresses? Is she into dressing up? I know for Cruz this year it will be action figures from Cars he is crazy about that movie!
Ah, crap, is it that time already? I think we will do 1 "big" gift and then stockings. He is still pretty young to care about gifts so much. I think we'll get him a train table or a wago as his big gift and then books/dvd's/ matchbox cars for his stocking.
He loves chapstick too, maybe I should get him some of that.
DS was 2 months old his first christmas and we got him books and some teethers. It was real exciting!
For Ryan I'd get maybe 1 toy and one outfit and leave it at that. Grandparents will get too much stuff and 4 month olds don't need anything!
I'm going to get Ben one of those kid digital cameras. He loves taking pictures. And I got him some big trucks from Costco. Oh and Duplo legos.
I think the dress up clothes are good - if you go to Costco.com you can search for dress up trunks and they have good collections of princessy stuff or fairy stuff, etc... plus a trunk to keep it all in which is nice.
Check etsy for cute felt or knitted food for the kitchen.
Does she have blocks/Duplos? or what about a big box of craft stuff? Paper, markers, glue stick, a craft kit of something she might like?
Oh, Ben got a shopping cart last year and that was/is a hit.
These were some of Kiah's favorite things for Christmas a few years:
Stockings- hair things, chap stick, toothbrush and toothpaste, a new cd and the m&m candy cane or life savor book.
Gifts: DVD, dress up clothes, books, shoes, craft stuff, clothes, kid camera, stuff to play house with oh man she had so many things she liked. But now they are getting more and more expansive.
For Ryan- I think I would get him teethers, an outfit or two, books and leave it at that.
The kids camera is a good idea. She loves using ours.
So you think at these ages, it's OK to not spend equal $$ on the kids for Christmas? My mom is always so careful about spending the same on all us kids and feels bad when one of us gets a more expensive gift so has less over all. (we're adults so we don't count number... silly mom!) But DH's mom hurts people's feelings by the amount and $$ spent on one kid and not on another. (and they are adults) I want to be fair, but am thinking like you guys suggested, at these ages, it's just not necessary.
For A"s 1st Chistmas, she was 5 months old and we got her a Jumperoo. We actually took it back a month or so later, so don't have it anymore. SInce right now all his toys are A's old ones she has outgrown, perhaps some kind of small "boy" toy. I agree, they will get enough from teh rest of the family.
ohh, A is going to be Snow WHite for Halloween. We just got her costume at the Disney Store so that is the only dress up outfit she has. Maybe some jewelry, heels and accessories would be good. (I gotta start a list for family too!)
