The Bob?

What are the thoughts on the Bob stroller with car-seat attachment? Is it worth the extra expense over a Graco stroller set? I don't jog, but I like the idea of an easy to maneuver stroller.

Re: The Bob?

  • Honestly, I think if you're not jogging, that extra maneuverability is wasted.  I'ts not like you're doing a slalom course at the mall.

My suggestion is to get a Snap N Go type stroller for when the baby is new, and assess your real life stroller needs after your baby is here.  You'll know more what you use it for and what features you woul dlike after you have a kid here.

I wouldn't think that the Bob (I don't have this stroller) would be a good "every day" stroller - it's pretty big for lugging in and out of the car.

I agree with what Jill said. BUT I have the Bob and we use it for our every day stroller.  We don't often use a stroller though.  We baby wear, or back pack carrier more than anything and DS is 2 now.

  • What kind of car do you have?  I have a volvo sedan and I can't get a jogging stroller in my trunk.  We actually use our chicco stroller much more than our jogger because it has a better storage space down below for all the stuff we are hauling around.

  • If you have any doubt about what you will want the Snag and GO would be your best bet.

We have a Graco that goes with our infant seat and a BOB. Hindsight, I much prefer the BOB.  Ours is the Ironman though, so the front wheel does not swivel, a bit hard for the mall etc..... so I wish we would have gone with the BOB Revolution from the get-go and forgone the Graco stroller completely.

Also FWIW, we got our BOB on CL with the infant adapter for half the price of a new one.

  • We have a BOB as our everyday stroller and really like it.We mainly use it for walks and dog park trips. A few mall trips but not many.

I will agree with Jill though. Get a Snap and Go to start with,  We LOVED ours! It's so light weight and easy to put your baby from car to mall which is what we mainly used it for in those days.

  • We have a graco with the bob revolution. It works great. The stroller is not too heavy, and fits in our trunk fine. (Honda Civic.)
  • I originally planned on getting three strollers -- a snap-n-go, a BOB stroller, and an umbrella stroller.

But I've found in reality that I have used the BOB for EVERYTHING!  With the carseat attachment, I could use it just like I intended to use the snap-n-go.  I was very surprised with how UN-heavy the Bob stroller is and it collapses and goes back together very easily.  So I nixed the idea of an umbrella stroller.

I do recommend getting the BOB Revolution stroller instead of the "regular" Bob.  The Revolution stroller has a front wheel which swivels 360 degrees (or can be locked into place if you're actually rnning).  It is incredibly maneuverable that way.

It's been a really fantastic stroller for us, even though I don't jog (heck, I couldn't even run to save my life!).  And I love having just one stroller instead of three.

    HTH!

  • You cannot do this with a Graco.  He rests his feet on the car seat bar now.  If you can get a frame on CL for $25, do it. If not, BOB is great for everyday.
