Helloooo! WOW - there's been a LOT of activity over the last ten days!!! Congrats to all the new mamas! So happy for all of you!
DH and I returned last night from our vacation to Nags Head, Outer Banks-NC. We rented a big house with his family across the street from the beach. I honestly have to say that since we live in Florida, I was not impressed with the beach....call me a beach snob! But since I'm entering my 8th month and big as a house, I really couldn't do much of anything. I know - for some that would be heaven, but I like to explore and be active on vacations. Instead, I WATCHED while DH fished, walked up the to the top of the lighthouses, kayaked, etc. BUT - it was much better than being at home and working! And, I really enjoyed spending time with his family - I'm lucky in the "in law" dept. AND - my SIL surprised us by throwing us a baby shower while we were there! They are so amazing!
Today I had my doc appt. that I had to reschedule from last week. Doc was not happy with my BP - it's really not that high (132/78), but high for me, I guess. It's been trending higher over the past few visits. Plus, with my Homer Simpson feet and carpal tunnel in both wrists, it was enough to raise some concern. I have to do the 24 hour urine collection and Wednesday they will test it for protein, take my BP again and also some blood for lab work. In the meantime - since I have an office job, doc said I can continue to work AS LONG as I take frequent breaks to put my feet up and then when I get home in the evening I am to do nothing but put my feet up/lay on left side. So - DH will be taking over the shopping/cooking/cleaning for awhile....which is hard for me because I'm a bit of a control freak. But, I know the most important thing is to take care of Delaney. It's just frustrating because there is so much to do....but it's this, or I'm on full bedrest. She (doc) doesn't want to have to do that - or worst case scenario - put me in the hospital. Guess I'll be online a lot in the evenings!

Re: Back from vacation + Dr's appointment
Welcome back!
It sounds like you had a nice vacation, even if you didn't get to do much.
Hopefully you'll be able to get your blood pressure back down now that you're home. I've heard the 24-hour jug thing's great fun.
Well that's kinda dumb of your doc. You just got home from travelling! Of course your BP is probably going to be kind of high!
My mother was in town last week and wanted to go to my appt. with me. I'm normally very stable and a nice, low BP, but registered 138/something and my doc didn't bat an eye. She just asked, "When's your mother leaving?" And we all laughed. It was back to normal today.
Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed vacation. I don't think your a beach snob at all. If I lived in FL I would probably think the same way.
Sorry to hear there is some concern on your BP, etc. Just try and take it easy. I know its hard but you have it right, the most important thing is Delaney!
Keep us posted!
Kristina
Welcome back. No, NC beaches aren't like FL beaches for sure, but they have their own sort of charm.
Sorry about the semi-bedrest, but there are worse things than to be told to take it easy on housework. Think about the big picture.
LOL.. I refer to my feet as Homer Simpson feet these days too.
