How accurate was the doctor at predicting your LO's weight at birth? I'm being told mine will be between 7 and 7 1/2 lbs. They told my cousin her's would be well over 8 lbs, but he was only 7lb 4oz. Just curious if they over or under estimated for you???

We had an ultrasound one week before our DD was born. The doctor said 8lbs, 7 oz - one week later she was born at 8lbs, 7oz. So my doc was pretty close

I had my 36 week u/s 2 days before I went into labor with DD. They guessed her to be around 6lb's.

She weighed 6lb's 9oz at birth 2 days later.

Mine never told me how much he thought DS "would" weigh when born, only how much he actually weighed at the growth ultrasound. They say that in the end they gain 1oz a day and that was pretty accurate when I added it all up.

You must be SO excited!!!

The Dr. told us that Brooke would be on the small side of 8lbs at birth. I was SHOCKED when they said that she weighed 9lbs 9ozs when she was born!

Good thing I didnt stock up on too much newborn stuff

They estimated him at around 6 1/2 lbs at my 41 week appt. He was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth exactly a week later.

My doctor predicted he would be between 7 and 7 and a half pounds. DS was 7lbs3oz. This prediction was done be feeling my belly, not via u/s.

I had a growth U/S at 37 weeks and LO was estimated to be in the 8 lb range. DS was born at 40 weeks and 2 days and weighed in at 8lbs 7oz.

I had a u/s the week before and they guesstimated 8 lbs and a few oz...he was 7lbs,5oz. They were about 1 lb off.

My doc guessed (just by feel) that my DS would be between 8 and 8.5 lbs. Baby was 8lbs 6oz at birth, so my doc was right on.

At 37 week ultrasound they estimated 6lbs. She was born at 41 weeks at 9lbs 1 oz.

I had a growth ultrasound at 33 weeks 1 day and they estimated DS to be big at 5 lbs 3 oz. He was born exactly 1 week later at 34 weeks 1 day weighing 7 lbs 2 oz. He wasn't just big, he was huge. So, either they were wrong or he gained 2 lbs in 1 week.

DD had been measuring big and ahead the entire time. I had bimonthly u/s for a while and they always predicted her to be big. At one point my OB got the estimates and told me he wanted me to have a section but that it was my choice. One week before my c/s DD measured 8lbs 15oz so I agreed on the c/s. When she arrived she was only 8lbs 5oz but she did have her mec. come out so she could have been a little bit heavier but not much. I'd say it was off for me but given the size of her body (90% tile) I don't regret it.

We had an ultrasound while I was in labor. They estimated DD at 9 pounds plus or minus one pound. She ended up 8 lb 1 oz.
