Toddlers: 24 Months+

when does it get easier?

My 15 month old chews on every piece of furniture, has started jumping up and down like a gorilla when he doesn't get what he wants, cannot stand for me to leave the room, and generally has stopped listening to anything he used to (come away from that, please come to mommy, no touch, etc).  I know this is all normal, but when will I be able to pee in peace again?  2 years old, 3?  Just give me some hope.

Re: when does it get easier?

  • lol @ jumping like a gorilla. Uhhh my son is 3 and there is no private peeing in sight for me haha

however some of the other behavior is better because he can express himself better and doesn't get to irritated- but boy could I have written this post back in the day!

  • he does, he really does.  and he bounces off the walls.  Like a bumper car.  I have to laugh.
  • Oh the tantrums are getting worse and worse...and I now have not 1 but 2 guests who freak out and cry if I try to go pee alone. Even if I sneak away...they just know. C listens to nothing, laughs at me and hits me. My BFF says 3 is worse than 2 so maybe 4? It is so bad now I can't imagine it being worse. But then again I have 2 mobile kids under 2. But C consumes all my attention, negative at that!
  • OH--YEAH--I forgot about that new thing--the hitting.  He gets mad and smacks his hands on me full force.  I LOVE that part.  He also pinches me.  He sounds like a monster, but he's so not.  He's also a very loving child, does hugs, kisses, and cuddles all day.  But the toddler getting mad thing is going to take some getting used to--and some new parenting techniques.
  • the 'toddler thing' really sucks at times haha

but just remember it is totally normal. Consistancy is key. BTW I suck at spelling lol
