  1. what age did you start swimming lessons? Haven't yet, I think it would be fun but not sure we can afford it with me only working half time. Maybe in the spring when he'll be about a year old?
  

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat? I don't have a toddler yet, but so far we've enjoyed peas.
  

  3.what is your favorite fall food? Hmmmm, apple cider and butternut squash soup! Oh, and pumpkin pie.

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep? Depends on the age and if you have an idea of what the issue is...does he just want to play with you, is he hungry, teething...I know a lot of the time you have no idea. Now that Max is 6 months old we have started using Ferber for naps and night time. Until now we swaddled and patted him to help him fall asleep, and when all else failed, the magical breasts almost always did the trick.
  

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things? n/a
  

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why? Just recently, more for looks thank anything else. They are a pain to get on though, he always scrunches up his toes. I still only put them on him a couple times a week.
  

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all? She's actually right about a lot of things! I think now I really understand why she would worry about me. You just can't help it!
  

  9.whats going on this week? Working a few extra hours to make up for time off for my oral surgery. TTD on Sunday!

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat? everything, she's my little vegetarian, but her favorites are grean beans, carrots, peas, tomatoes

  3.what is your favorite fall food? apple pie

  4.what age did dc say their first word? 8 months I think, her first word was Pippen - our cat (it came out Puhpuh)

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep? find a way to deal with it, if it is something that is really bothering her (ie night terrors) we do what we can to fix it, if it's just a fussy, attention-getting phase (like right now) we let her cry it out and she goes back into her old routines. Through all of it we stick to the bed time routine as much as possible.

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things? a couple months

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why? we didn't really put shoes on DD until she started walking, there was no point before then and I couldn't justify buying shoes just for looks

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all? you can get hurt jumping on the bed

  9.whats going on this week? work work and more work, my boss is back from vacation so I'm just waiting for it all to come down

  1. what age did you start swimming lessons?  Haven't yet.  She's been in pools but we haven't done actual lessons.

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat?  Everything, she's not a picky eater (yet).  She loves broccoli!

  3.what is your favorite fall food?  Probably baked goodies with pumpkin. 

  4.what age did dc say their first word?  I really can't remember.  "Dada" was her first, followed by mama.

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep?  Just work through it and try to survive.  Lately M has been getting up once in the middle of the night for a bottle, and that's hard after she's been STTN for so long, but we're just dealing as best we can.

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things?  Not long, maybe a month or two?

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why?  She's been wearing shoes for pictures since birth.  For actual practical reasons, when she started walking.  She still doesn't wear them all the time though.

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all?  Ha, not much unfortunately, my mom didn't know much about health and safety for babies.

  9.whats going on this week?  Working, going to see "Wicked" at the Paramount, just enjoying the rest of September!

  10. questions for next week?  Are you going to a pumpkin patch this year?  Which one?

  1. what age did you start swimming lessons?  I was going to start Evelyn this month at Waterbabies until I read a news report recently that the chlorine in the pools are a huge link to kids getting asthma.  They say kids lungs are still being developed and only recommend doing swimming lessons at 3 years old.  Oh, indoor pools are worse than outdoor pools since there isn't any kind of ventilation.

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat?  n/a

  3.what is your favorite fall food?  Hmm...anything that is related to Thanksgiving dinner. 

  4.what age did dc say their first word?  n/a

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep?  Take one day at a time and hope to pack some patience.

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things?  n/a

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why?  DD was 4-5 months old and it was because she was starting to love practicing walking.  Thought it was cleaner if she were to practice outside of our home.

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all?  Can't think of anything right now.

  9.whats going on this week?  Going out for a friend's birthday tonight with just the girls!  Can't wait since I feel I need a break.

  10. questions for next week?  How often do you feed your dc solids during a meal and how many times do you feed dc snacks?  How often do you still feed dc milk?

  1. what age did you start swimming lessons? We're thinking of starting them next quarter, when we're travelling less.

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat? it depends on her mood... sometimes she likes broccoli, carrots... But sometimes, she refuses to eat any of it.

  3.what is your favorite fall food? hhhmmm. Good question! I don't know though, I feel like pumpkin bread is a fall food, so maybe that.

  4.what age did dc say their first word? I'd have to look at the baby book...

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep? I have no good advice. Emma always ends up with us in our bed.

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why? I put them on her as soon as she discovered her feet because she would pull off her socks, and when I put shoes on her feet, she wouldn't.

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all? that some things you just have to learn, you can read all you want, but sometimes, you have to experience it to understand.

  9.whats going on this week? another week of going crazy at home without internet! UGH! I hate it. When I want internet, I have to go sit at the college, in DH's office! Hopefully we'll have it all worked out by the end of the week.

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat? Green Beans, Peas, Potatoes, and I think thats about it

  3.what is your favorite fall food? I love homemade soups and stews

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep? DS tried that a few months back and we just stuck with or normal routine and within a couple of days he was back to normal.

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things? 3 months or so

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why? Around 7-8 months if we were out and about b/c the weather was colder and I thought they looked cute. All the time when he could walk on his own 13 months.

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all? Being patient makes the hard times in your life a little easier to get thought.

  9.whats going on this week? Just swimming lessons and maybe a HS football game this weekend.

  1. what age did you start swimming lessons? We haven't done this yet. Kaylin is not very comfortable in the bathtub, let alone a swimming pool.

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat? Peas, carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, corn (although we don't really consider it a veggie), spinach, cucumber, zucchini, sweet potatoes, celery, green beans... I might be forgetting some. She eats almost anything!

  3.what is your favorite fall food? Pumpkin pie with whipped cream

  4.what age did dc say their first word? Depends on how you define "first words" I usually go by 9 months.

  5.what do you do when your baby all fo the sudden goes through a difficult phase of going to sleep? Before a year old, I would just nurse her back to sleep. Now, if she wakes up in the night, she either falls back asleep or cries. If she cries, I go to her because I know she needs something. It is out of the ordinary for her to wake and cry now.

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things? Several months. She was pulling up around 8-9 months but she didn't walk until almost 13 months.

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why? At 6 months when she started going to daycare.

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all? Diet and exercise makes a huge difference on the way you feel about life.

  9.whats going on this week? Had an OB appointment this morning and baby looks good. Kaylin has an ear infection I've got a busy week at work and school and hoping to squeeze in some time to enjoy the last little bit of summer!

  She eats everything. Steamed asparagus, corn, carrots, and broccoli.

  6 months - well worth it. Seattle Parks and Rec have inexpensive programs. We're now at Mt Lake Terrace though.  DS is a water baby. No idea how I'm going to do it w/ 2 though

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat?

  All of them

  3.what is your favorite fall food?

  Stews

  I have no idea maybe 10 months?

  Ride it out and be consistent in getting them to go back to sleep as much on their own as we can. At 18 months, we're still battling bad nights sometimes. Don't start any new bad habits.

  6.how long did it take for your dc to start walking after they started pulling themselves up on things?

  Pulled up at 8 months - 100% independent walking at 13 months. Took steps between people or things at 11/12 months.

  7.when did you start putting shoes on dc?  Why?

  I put PediPeds or little sandal crib shoes at 4-5 months. Because they were cute.  More solid shoes around 9/10 months when he'd hold our hands and walk.

  8.what is the one thing you realize that your mom was right about after all?

  I am my mother so I don't disagree w/ her on much. But she's right about the you know your child the best.

  9.whats going on this week?

  I GOT A NEW CAR! Sorry a little AW there but my DH surprised me with it at the end of a trip this weekend. We bought it from my dad and I couldn't be happier. It's the same brand of car we already have, just a little bigger w/ more cargo room/3rd row. I shouldn't love a car but I do.  It will be perfect for 4!

  If you have two+ kids, do you feel like the second one will or has missed out on activities b/c you can't do certain things with 2 kids etc?

  Well probably as soon as his little feet grow a little more. I have the cutest baby vans my sister bought for him, but his feet are still too small.

  EVERYTHING! One of the best things she told while being an amazing coach while I was in labor with Ryder was, "This pain will only last a little longer. I know it hurts and it will, but the best part is right around the corner, when you get to hold your little boy." It was so true and now I have the best thing in the world!

  Getting to spend time with my little guy, relaxing and hopefully napping while he naps, and getting in some last minute Dr and dentist appts before I go back to work.

  1. what age did you start swimming lessons? We did baby swim at 7 months and just signed up for the fall session.
  

  2.what veggies does your toddler eat? Not a toddler yet, but she will (sometimes) eat carrots, peas and little pieces of broccoli.
  

  3.what is your favorite fall food? pumpkin pie.
  

  4.what age did dc say their first word? 7.5 months (dada). She now says dada, mama, dog, and uh-oh.
