Am I over-reracting?

I have a 5 months old and a 3 year old. My mom watches them for me once or twice a week. I went to pick them up todady my oldest was napping.. I went up to get her and she was sleeping sucking on a pacifier!!! I was fuming. I ripped it right out of her mouth! Went down stairs and confronted my mom. 3yo has not had a paci since a year old. My mom said that she was playing with her cousin today and she was the baby. Then we leave, stop at the store and when I go to get her out of the car she has a diaper on. I was pi$$ed. I called my mom and told her that she is not allowed to do that anymore. She has been potty trained since Jan and did great with nnot having accidents but lately she is having a lot of them and Im wondering if this was why.

    I've heard that when a baby is introduced into the family, sometimes older siblings will revert to baby behavior for attention.  This could be why she's wetting her pants.  Putting her in diapers isn't going to help anything.  I'd be upset too.  Your mother should be following your directions.

    No, you are not over reacting. It is hard work potty training and getting rid of the binky! Having your mom sabotage (on purpose or not) all of your hard work is not ok. I'd tell her that if she can't follow the rules, you'll find a new sitter...ugh I could totally see my MIL pulling this which is exactly why I've already told DH she can't babysit for long periods of time!

    I just read the title of my post!! I know how to spell reacting. It almost looks like Scooby Doo typed the title.

    Sorry you are upset.

    My nephew whose 5 the other day went and gave my son his paci and then put another in his mouth...instead of overreacting I just asked why he was doing that and he said I want to know what it feels like..so I said ok but your big now, its not like your going to use it right? and he said nope just wanna feel what its like. and he used it for a bit then just took it out. Kids will react to you. Just remember that if your going to go off on anyone...the learn all the bad stuff super fast. I know you just be upset but don't go off w/out knowing. Not flaming just saying....
