does you city have a murder a day?

My city is so messed up.  I seriously can't wait to get out of here sometimes.  For a long time, we had the glory of being the "Murder Capital of the US".  Seriously...little ole Jacksonville.

Here is what I see everyday on my Intranet news feed.  This is so typical it is depressing.

Four charged in death of Clay County teenager
Jacksonville shooting victim critical
Police: Heavily-armed man killed by Jacksonville SWAT officer said "he meant business"
Two suspects arrested in weekend Jacksonville slaying
Clay named high performing school district

I want to move to a small town.  Does your small town have multiple murders every day?

    Yes, daily! BUT the Phoenix area is really big.

    I live in a small town where there isn't a lot of murders but there's been 3 pretty shocking ones in the past few years all within 3 miles of my house.

    I sometimes work in & live 25 mins from Detroit which has a very high murder rate. Murder & crime is pretty normal.

    We dont really have to much here but right now there is a trial going on for 2 horrible murders.

    No, we don't have many murders here at all.  We live about 30 min south of St. Paul.

    I live in NYC and in Manhattan, there were 62 murders last year.  That's way less than 1 per day.  NY is such a safe city despite it's huge size.
    3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
    IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

    I live in mountain home ID...population 11,000...I'm pretty sure thats INCLUDING us military ppl. LOL...I've been here for 2 years and haven't heard of one murder in this town, but 50miles away in Boise area theres a few a week. I also lived in 2 other small towns in NC...and no problems with murder there either.

    I live in Mayberry...literally!  I live in Mount Airy, NC which is the home of Andy Griffith so no we don't have any murders that I know of!  You should move to NC...beach, mountains, 4 seasons...what more do you need?  A job perhaps!

    Good heavens no.  Not even close!  (55 last year.  And that was a BAD year.)  And I live in a city of 2 million people.  A good 80% of the murders we have had are targeted and drug related.  If a murder's going to happen, I obviously prefer it to be targeted.

    Boston had 63 last year, and that was a lot if I recall correctly, Size does not necessarily correlate to safety - I consider Boston to be very safe.

    we had 112 last year.  that is just so sad.

    Not in my town, but we're not far from Baltimore and there's about a murder a day there. It's on the news all the time and you almost become immune to it. It's really terrible.
