1. laugh for the first time? This is terrible, I can't remember exactly. Somewhere between 2 and 3 months, I think...
2. switch to #2 nipples? Around 6 or 8 weeks and we've stayed with those.
3. sit up on his/her own? He can do it now for maybe 5-10 seconds at a time. Just started that last weekend, so 6 months.
4. drop a night feeding? We stopped having to wake him to eat when he was about 8 weeks old, if I remember right.
5. crawl? n/a
6. sleep through the night? Ha! I don't know what to say, we've had plenty of nights where he does and then the next night wakes up 3 times. He started sleeping longer stretches closer to 3 months old.

2. switch to #2 nipples??He's still on the newborn size. I think if we go to a higher flow, he'll give up on BF completely.

2. switch to #2 nipples? never did. he stayed with newborn nipples til he stopped taking bottles.

6. sleep through the night? 3-6.5 months. Then not again til I think 17 months, maybe 18? I think 17.
7. say his/her first word? (and what was it?) somewhere between 12 and 15 months I think... he said no and uh-oh pretty clearly and I think ma ma and da da (sort of) by 15 months.

1. laugh for the first time? Is it bad that I dont remember? He was an early laugher, giggled before 2 months, full on belly laughs around 3.5 months?
2. switch to #2 nipples? Never, he still starts choking if he accidentally gets one.

4. drop a night feeding? we still cosleep/dream feed, will continue until his weight is at a normal range
5. crawl? on all fours rocking back and forth at around 6 mo 3 weeks, full on speed crawling 7 mo 1 week.
6. sleep through the night? we cosleep so he sttn ever since we started this at about 2 weeks, but probably wouldnt if we didnt cosleep
7. say his/her first word? (and what was it?) He has said "Hi" for atleast a month and a half, so 6.5months?
8. take his/her first steps? he cruises along the couch, and takes long walks holding onto our fingers, but no real, on his own steps yet.

2. switch to #2 nipples? Payton always used #1 nipples, we switched Ryan to #2 right around 4-5months
3. sit up on his/her own? Payton 6mo. Ryan 7mo.
4. drop a night feeding? I don't remember??
5. crawl? Payton crawled at 10mo, Ryan at 7mo.
6. sleep through the night? They both STTN early - like 2mo. Payton stopped STTN at 4mo... until she was almost 1yr. Ryan STTN from 2mo - 7mo and now wakes at least 2x a night. Ugh.
7. say his/her first word? (and what was it?) Payton - 8mo "Mamamamama" Ryan - TBD.
8. take his/her first steps? Right around her 1st birthday.

1. laugh for the first time? I wish I had my notes!! Somewhere around 10 weeks.
2. switch to #2 nipples? We finally did it around 10 months old. I was too scared she would prefer the bottle over me but it turned out she preferred the slower flow of the bottle for a long time. Never went any higher.
3. sit up on his/her own? 4.5 months
4. drop a night feeding? I didn't keep track of this and I didn't start encouraging her to stop night feeding until 9 months old. She would drop feedings, then pick them back up... STTN then not STTN. Every time I thought we were getting in a routine, it would change!
5. crawl? 6 months
6. sleep through the night? Consistently at 9 months. Before that it varied. She would STTN for weeks, then hit a growth spurt or a developmental milestone and be up.
7. say his/her first word? (and what was it?) This is actually a really tough question for me. First, because she signs and did so very early. Also, it's hard to say when the word counts. She would say "Hi" really early but more to get a reaction then to communicate a greeting. She started saying "mama" around 9 months old followed closely by "dada". From there the words just kept coming. About 10 words by 12 months and she has about 30 words now.
8. take his/her first steps? First steps at 12 months and true walking at 13 months.
