Re: flying cut off date

  • I've been told not to fly anytime from 36 weeks on.

  • I think it depends on the airline, but I've heard 36-38 weeks.  I'm planning on flying during my 30-31st weeks (if I feel up for it).  I'd get a note from your doc with your due date though just to be on a safe side.
  • Ive also heard 36 weeks but I would go with what your doctor said.

  • I think I remember it's around 35 weeks or so, although airlines can be discretionary...if you are farther along, I would take a note from your doc just in case.

  • My doctor told me not to fly after 32 weeks.

  • I fly United all the time, and know their policy is to have a doctor's note in the 9th month.  Otherwise I've heard 36 weeks is a good time to stop.
  • My doctor told me 34 weeks when I was pregnant with my son.

  • most airlines say 34 weeks on. the only reason is the risk going into labor. no harm is done to the baby
  • Thank you! My doc said 32 weeks, but I thought that sounded early. The flight will be just before 32 weeks, but I didnt want to take any chances if anyone heard earlier.
  • My doc says no flying after 30 weeks.  I think some airlines will let you fly up to a week before your due date with a note from your doc.

  • How about you listen to the doctor who is treating you since they know more about you than a friend's doctor would.  Many airlines won't let you fly past 32 weeks, and even if they do you have to get a doctor's note so if it is against what your doctor advises good luck getting one.
