Hi ladies, I'm sneaking over from 1st tri. I want to start letting people know after my appointment on Wednesday that I'm pregnant. I don't want any slip ups where someone congrats me on my wall and get a lot of "huhs??" from other people, ya know? So I want to just go ahead and say something myself.
What did you say in your status update to announce?
And if so can you share the wording?

I just said Sarah ___ is going to be a mommy!

I posted, "One + One = Three...That is what we are soon to be!"
Everyone loved it. Cute and Simple.
I didn't -- and now am debating the best way to "out" myself! I remember a lot of creative ideas from other posts that I read when in first tri -- you might want to ask you ladies for what cute status updates they have up their sleeves!

One thing I suggest before 'coming out' on FB is to take a quick scan of your friends list and make sure you have personally called your closest friends and family who may be offended to find out about it on FB!
Other than that my status was "(My name) and (husband's name) are blessed to be expecting a baby in January."

I announced on FB after letting our closest friends know. However I was too covert about it by using a quote from Juno. Some of my FB friends still didn't get the memo until my big u/s pic went up as my profile pic.
I haven't yet. I was dying to at first, but then waited, b/c I hadn't told everyone at work yet and was waiting awhile to do that (I'm friends with some co-workers on FB) I think I might just wait and post a status update when we find out the gender (3 weeks from now) since I've waited this long!!!
About 1/4 of my FB friends know, but nothing has been posted about the news yet. So, I think it will be pretty funny to see so many people shocked at that point! ha!
If I told my friends that were on FB but were my close friends & family I made sure to say 'Don't write anything on FB wall until I announce it' because I waited awhile after I told my friends to out myself.
Then I took a cue from Juno and said "_____'s Eggo is Preggo" and luckily the first person to respond got it so Congrats followed soon after

I posted my u/s picture and wrote Hey look theres a baby in my uterus and DH did the same and wrote Hey look its Jen's uterus. I also posted an album that is marked baby and I'll keep it updated with pictures of my progress. if you don't want to tell you can make it so nobody can post on your wall, just go in privacy settings and there is a box that says allow friends to post on my wall. They can still comment if you update your status but thats it.

I haven't outted myself on FB yet. As a pp stated, you should definitely scan over your friends list and send anyone who you consider a close friend a PM letting them in on the secret.
I have told all of my friends and family that do know that when I do post it, they will have to read between the lines. I have been thinking aobut how I am going to out myself a lot lately. This is what I have come up with...Brandy is cooking up something good. All of our friends and family know that I am NOT the chef in my house.

I scanned our u/s pic to use as my profile pic, and then said, "Tiffany and Ron are happy to introduce Baby [Last Name], who should be joining us around March 16, 2009."
I waited to put it on fb until I had a little over a week to tell close family and friends in person or over the phone. When I talked to ppl who have fb, I said that I'd be putting it on there in about a week, so act surprised. It was a roundabout way of asking them not to "out" me before I got a chance to "out" myself.

I wrote (me) is on team pink, DH is on team blue, find out who wins on 3/17. DH did this also switching it around of course.
"Come March we'll be sharing nursery rhymes and precious times with our newest addition baby (lastname)."
___ is increasing the size of her house by two feet in March!
I waited until a week after our wedding - which put me at 14 weeks.
I just said Sarah & ___ (insert DH's name) are expecting their first child on Christmas day!
ETA: I also made an album with the u/s pics as well.
I did three seperate status updates:
____ has a secret! I'll give you three clues. Clue #1: It's really expensive!
Clue #2: 31710
Clue#3: It's made of snips, snails and puppy dog tails OR sugar spice and everything nice! Still don't get it? (link to our sonogram picture)
It went pretty well. The first clue, everyone thought we were buying a house. The second clue, they thought it was a car (The second clue is my due date). By the third clue, it was pretty obvious we were announcing our pregnancy.
