Flu Shot (not H1N1 related)

My office has given us 2 options for getting the flu shot.  One on 09/23 and the other date as 10/13.

Is there a better date to get the shot?  I was assuming the late one so it will last longer.  What do you suggest.

  • I'd get it earlier rather than later, IMO. I got mine 2 weeks ago.

  • Personally I'd get the earlier one...but I work in a large office (500+ people) and there are sicklings among us already.

Also, I don't know how the flu shot affects you, but I know I feel kind of icky for a few days after I get it. I'd rather recover sooner than later.

  • Great question I was wondering the same thing. I have never received the flu shot before but my baby will not be here until Feb so I was thinking later would be better but I am not sure how that plays into getting the other shot if I decide to.

  • Got mine last week. Personally, I  wouldn't wait.
  • I would opt for the earlier option.  I plan on getting mine either today or tomorrow.

I'm actually getting mine this afternoon.

Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e. Met with a RE in May 2009 and set a plan - but conceived unexpectedly on our own! Our precious little Sophia was born on February 9, 2010! Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

  • I am getting one this week. I think the sooner the better because it takes a few weeks to get into your system, so if you get the earlier one you will be prepared for when the "flu season" really starts.
  • Get the earlier one. Like PP said, it will take a few weeks for your body to actually develop an immunity to the flu after you get the shot.  Also, it will not wear out this season.  I got mine last week.
