Horrible Pelvic pain and grouchy

Is anyone else having horrible pelvic pain.  It hurts so bad that it wakes me up when I roll over at night.  I I stand on my left leg to put on pants I can barley keep myself steady.  And this getting up to pee 5-6 times a night had got me really grouchy!  So anyone with the peliv pain did the doctor say what it is?  I go tomorrow just thought I would ask.

  • Yep - it is great!  I was told it is just a part of pregnancy - it's all of your ligaments and joints stretching and spreading.

  • Yep, I had it BAD around 35-37 weeks.  It's lightened up, though.
  • I totally feel your pain, except I can't get comfortable enough to fall asleep for it to wake me up, I tossed and turned all night.  Hopefully this and the ever constant cramping that I have been having for the past week means something will be happening soon!

  • Sounds like round ligament pain if it's happening when you roll over.  And yep, the peeing sucks.  I take a Benadryl at night and that usually cuts it down to 3-4x/night.

  • Yeah, I'm getting it too.  It never goes away.  And putting on pants is bad. I found that sitting on a dining room chair to get dressed makes it not hurt so much.  My bed was too high and my reading chair in my bedroom was too low.  I'm asking my OB about it today, so if I get any info, I'll pass it on, but I'm pretty sure I'll be told that it's just part of pregnancy.
  • YES! This is JUST what I was explaining to a coworker- and my exact words were.. "If this is what I have to look forward to for the next 4 weeks, then I am ready now."

    Ug!

  • Yes, it's terrible, especially at night.  My OB said it was because of the pelvic bones beginning to separate and then rub back together.  That's why any motion that involves separating the legs (like rolling over in bed) makes it worse.

He said the maternity belts help some women (and make it worse for others), but I haven't tried one.  A heating pad/rice sock gives some temporary relief.  I have to sit down to put on pants and even that hurts.  I was telling DH that he might be helping me get dressed soon!

***************************** Our beautiful daughter was born in October 2009. Turns out she was quite the miracle. After two years of TTC, diagnosed with DOR. A couple of failed treatment cycles later, we decided to let go of our hope for more biological children and explore adoption.
  • I've had that since 22 weeks. My doctor said it was the ligaments in the pelvic area loosening in preparation for delivery. It's gotten stronger the closer I get to the end.
