I would love to start sewing some burp cloths, bibs, etc. for ds. I am new to sewing, and can not find any cute fabric. Where do you like to buy yours? I tried Joanns, but did not see anything.
joann's, hancock fabris, even walmart sometimes has some stuff. if you look in fabric stores for the scrap materials, its usually enough for burp cloths and taggies etc. or the easy quilt packs they make.
I generally go with Wal-Mart or JoAnns, but when I have a few extra pennies to throw around I like to hit up small specialized quilting shops. In my experience, they tend to carry some really great prints. Also, Ikea carries textiles. I've always ogled them online and thought they would be great for xyz project, but never actually followed through and ordered/purchased any.
Page Stephm1088 on 12-24. She makes awesome things. She made my DS a taggie blanket, bibs & burp clothes. I love them! I think she get's most of her stuff online. I know she is a huge ribbon fan.
I never like any of the prints at Jo-ann's. ?I buy most of my fabric on Etsy.com, or Fabric.com. ?I search Etsy under "supplies". ?Some of my favorite fabric designers are Amy Butler, Alexander Henry, Michael Miller, Anna Maria Horner, and Heather Ross. ?Their fabric is modern and cute.
?You can find fat quarter sets on Etsy that all coordinate and are perfect for smaller projects.

Oooh, great post!! I'm trying to find Fabric that doesn't cost a million dollars to make a Moby wrap. I can't figure out what kind to get, though, because apparently I'm fabric-stupid. Our Wal-Mart sucks monkey butt and JoAnn's had some but it was $8.00 a yard -- and I can buy a Moby for cheaper than that!

How many yards do you need for a Moby? You can sign up for coupons from JoAnn's, at least I got one in the mail today.
Field's is my local store. I've been spoiled, I didn't realize that a lot of people don't have local fabric stores like that.

The patterns I've found suggest 6 yards if you're larger, then trim off a little bit until you get the length that works for you. Regular sized people have a 5 yard recommendation.
