We took DD to a free trial class at Gymboree today. It was pretty cute, but not as active as I hoped it'd be. Allison is nuts. She's a high energy kid to say the least, and she's a monkey. Hence, why we're hoping to enroll her in a gymnastics type class. I know it's not necessary, but it's something we'd like to do. Anyway, we also stopped by a real gymnastics school to check it out too. They do classes starting at 18 months, which looked awesome (and a little more active). Gymboree is more expensive, but we could start right away. They gymnastics school is less expensive but we'd need to wait abotu 4 months to start. Also, another bonus is that Gymboree has "open gym" days so I could take her by and let her free play on all the equipment at those times too. WDYT?
Re: What do you think?
A warning about Gymboree - you have to give them a minimum of a full months notice before you withdrawal from the class so you don't get charged (they basically charge you a month ahead of time). I learned this the hard way when I injured my shoulder recently. When I complained, they let me put the class on 'hold' for a $15 fee (which I still think is BS considering it was an injury), but you can only do that twice in a calendar year. My son was enrolled in the music class and loved it, FWIW.
I have a little monkey, too. At 7 months, she's already climbing onto the back of the couch.
If she keeps this up, I'm going for the real gymnastics.
I think the gymboree type places can be nice - but, I prefer the real thing.
Hey, maybe our girls have a real talent! Future Olympians! LOL.
