Do you "brush" your DD/DS' gums?

And if so, how do you do it?

Re: Do you "brush" your DD/DS' gums?

  • No, but I think I may start as he appears to be teething.
  • Loading the player...
  • They sell these little finger jellies (not a jelly, think about the jelly shoes... like that) and it has bumps on it to stimulate.  I think you're just supposed to put that on and rub it on their gums with water.
  • It is recommended that you don't until they have teeth, according to my pedi. The bacteria that is forming in their mouth is desired at this age.
  • My sister, a dental hygenist, said to wipe them with a wet washcloth.  LO has no problem with it since we do it every night in the bath, but if you wait til they have teeth you might have a fight on your hands!

This is what my pedi said to do so that they get used to having something in their mouth in that way.
