1st Trimester

End in sight?

Ok, I am 6 weeks today, my m/s started last week Monday and has not really let up since. Severe nausea, no vomiting yet. Doc prescribed Zofran, worked a little, no huge difference. Is this going to let up eventually or do I need to stick this out until week 13? anybodys stop sooner?

Re: End in sight?

  • It's so different for everyone. Mine got better around week 8 or 9 and then it returned with a vengeance a few weeks later. Although I wasn't vomiting, I was nauseous well into the 2nd trimester. I still get nauseous when I'm very hungry or very full. Wish I could give you some hope, but it's too hard since everyone's experience and body is so different. The good news is that for most women, it improves by the 10th week (at least that was a finding of a study my OB mentioned)

  • I hate to say this, but I had morning sickness for 26 weeks with DD and was very disappointed when 13 weeks came and went with no end in sight. Good luck, I hope it ends sooner rather than later for you.

  • It really is different for everyone.  At 6 weeks I felt overall ickiness but not sick.  Going into week 7 it got a little worse but not much.  Week 8 let up and I had several good days.  The end of week 9 and beginning of week 10 were horrible.  I couldn't stand brushing my teeth or trying to swallow PNV's.  I threw up a few times but not many.  Week 11 was a little better but I would still get these times where I just felt sick, even though I am trying to nibble on things throughout the day.  Today, I still feel that way.
  • I've been extremely sick since 5w4d. I'm on Zofran and Phenergan and have decent days and bad days. There doesn't seem to be a reason for when/why I have a good day. I'm hoping that it begins to get better the closer I get to 2nd tri. Hopefully you will feel better faster!Smile

  • hang in there, it should get better.  for me, it started around week 5, was the worst from weeks 6-9 and started to subside slowly the last few weeks.  i'm still a bit nauseous, but it's different, more tolerable.  i know the end is near and that helps.
