3rd Trimester

after giving birth, you bleed for 6 weeks. Sometimes more.

sometimes less, but generally AT LEAST 4 weeks. 4 weeks of needing pads and not being able to use tampons, so stock up on pads NOW ladies.

I recommend Always Infinity or Stayfree overnight ultrathin.

(I bring joy to 3rd tri)

ywia!

Yes, you bleed after a c-section too. Your uterus still needs to slough off the old lining and tissue.

This happened for me too! Hoping I'm lucky this time around. My poor sister bled for longer than 6 weeks. Sad

7 weeks for me. Sucks. But the worst of it was in the first few days. After that it was really light.

  • You don't bring joy... you bring Glee.
  • I only bled for 2 weeks... and it wasn't a full on flow... It was mostly discharge type bleeding after week one...I delivered vaginally and had to have episiotomy (sp?)... So this isn't always true... But every pregnancy is different

Great advice to stock up.  My idiot self had only purchased a small pack, which I used up in the first 3 days home.  So off to the market DH went, to buy the biggest overnight pads he could find :)  Lucky him!
