NTR: deli trays from sams?

Does Sams club do deli trays?  I was going to do burgers & dogs for DS's birthday party, but now I'm thinking I'd rather not have DH occupied at the grill all day (and have a hot grill hazard around toddlers).

AND it looks like my cakemaker is going to fall through. :(  So I'd love to be able to order lunch AND cake from the same place and figured Sams would be cheaper than the grocery store.

WDYT?

  • I can't recall if they do deli trays.  I've ordered sandwich rings (feed 20) and the roll-up trays in the past.  I wasn't that impressed with the quality, although the price was far better than the grocery store.

  • FWIW, my mom grilled all of our burgers and brats the night before and then put then in a big slow cooker with onions and beer. She turned it on right before the party started, and you couldn't tell the difference.

We bought Lili's birthday cakes from Wal-Mart and were pretty pleased with them.

We always do this for any get togethers we have. I actually think burgers and brats are better this way!

  • I have both a costco and sam's memberships, and I have not been impressed with sam's quality of prepared foods at all. I got a little cake for dd for her family night party from sams, and it was gross. It just tasted "old"... (sorry for being negative). For dd's big party, I did sandwich and roll up trays from costco as well as the cake. They were all yummy. Do you have a costco nearby?
