Another Q - Audio or Video monitor? or both?

I definitely want a video monitor to keep by us when the baby is in the crib.  In your opinion, do I also need an audio monitor as well?

    We don't have a video monitor but we do have the Angelcare deluxe monitor, and absolutly love it!! This was my second monitor I have the sony babycall and hated it. so we purchased the angelcare one. It monitors their breathing, if they dont breathe for 20 second its sounds a soft alarm to try and wake them, if they dont breathe it will sound an alarm on the parents monitor, it also monitors the temp. in her room. Its really cool! I can finally sleep better.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE having audio and video. We use both daily and nightly. But if you have just video and no audio you will end up staring at video all night, and if you have just audio you can not tell if they are just crying in there sleep or something is really wrong...

    We just have audio. Video monitors freak me out because if people in houses around yours have the same monitor they can tap in and see your video. I don't like the idea of people in surrounding condos being able to see my son.?

    We have both (well, the video monitor is a custom solution with a webcam that transmits over IP and we can access from a browser) but what we mainly use is the Angel Care, audio and movement monitor. Total peace of mind.

    This is the reason we didn't get a video monitor. I read the reviews on the one's that are sold up here and there was mixed reviews about the security of them.
