My doc has scheduled a c-section for the 29th which will be 38 weeks 2 days. He did measurements on monday 14th and said baby a weighs 6lbs 8ozs and b weighs 5lbs 14ozs. He told me he could probably take them that day and they would be fine but wants to wait two more weeks. I know I'm getting anxious but the pressure is so strong I want them to come now. Anyone else deliver boys at this time? Any complications. My doc says boys are know to be weak thats why they need to stay in.
Re: 36 weeks 4 days w/ boys when will they come???
After a PCOS dx, 18 months of trying, 3 rounds of clomid and 2 follistim IUIs our babies are here!
I delivered at 36w4d... Sam was fine (6lbs, 11oz) but Jake (6lbs, 3oz) was in the NICU for 24 days because he had problems maintaining his blood sugar and then developed NEC.
I wish I could have kept them in longer.
36w is NOT term and should not deliver babies by choice that early unless there is a medical raeson to. My first son was induced at 36w because of high bp and kidney stones... he did great (because i had the steriod shots) but some babies born that early need NICU time.
If you can make it to 38w, feel very blessed. There are tons of MoMs on here and IRL who would have done anything to make it that far...
I had my boys at 38w1d, my scheduled c/s date, and I feel so fortunate. They needed no NICU time and came right home with us. that is what you want.
Mine came via scheduled c/s at 38w2d. No complications. Their weights are in my siggy.
You want to keep any baby (boy or girl) in as long as possible. I was so ready to have mine at 35 weeks, but seeing how healthy they were by hanging on until 38w2d made the extra stuff I had to deal with so worth it. You want those LOs cooking as long as possible.
I know you are uncomfortable and think you can't last another minute but I agree with pp that you need to keep them in there as long as those babies will let you.
I delivered at 36 & 2 but not b/c I went into labor - Baby A was having some trouble in there. Our NICU stay was short and we were very lucky that their issues were not as severe as what other have dealt with but that did not make it any less stressful for us
After your babies are here you will look back at this time and it will be a blip and you will probably be on here giving the same advice to others that you are receiving now. You are doing a great job, hang in there!
