What window coverings are you using in nursery?

Right now the nursery has wood blinds that block out a lot of sunshine when they are closed.  I was looking at putting these (minus the valance) over top of the blinds, but I'm not sure about using sheers.  I want the room to be dark enough but I don't want LO to only be able to sleep in a pitch black room!  What are you using?

  • We have bamboo blinds that let alot of light in and then dark navy blue panels over that that we can pull to block out more light so we can go either way with the lighting in the room.  Total I only paid $45 for the blinds, rod and panels all together!

  • We put up room darkening shades in the nursery. We have some in other rooms and love them- DH works 3rd shift and sleeps during the day so he needs it very dark and they are the only real room darkening curtains we have gotten. The nursery is on a side of the house that gets a ton of sunlight first thing in the morning so we didn't want LO to wake up at the crack of dawn.

  • We have wood blinds and then valances.

The sheers are really cute by the way!

  • We got black out shades and then sheers for over those.  I don't know if I am always going to keep the shades down or not, but we will have them if we need them.

  • We have roman shades that dim things but still let in light.  I also like the particular kind we have because they open in between the shades with a sheer section to let in more light.  They were there from the previous owners so I have no idea where they were purchased.
