Sounds boyish, hate the 'y' spellings, and don't understand why anyone is still partaking in the "aden" name trend. ?There are a gazillion Aiden, Kaden, Jaden, Brayden, Haydens out there. ?Even if you don't know one now, I guarantee you will know 100 when your kid gets to school. ?

(boy Jaden's parents are Jason and Denise - they squished their names together to form Jaden. There are still incredibly bitter about how popular their "special" name is. LOL)
The first time I had ever heard these name (Aidan, Caidan, Braden, etc) was the name Jayden. And it was on two girls. So this name I see as a girl name all the way!

My oldest dd is Jaiden and she is 7 but we did have her name chosen long before it ever became popular. My dd is one of 3 Jaidens in her entire school so I guess it must depend on where you live.
To answer your question, I think Jaden/Jayden is one of the most unisex names out there. To offer unsolicited opinion, I am super sick of the Jaden/Braden/Hayden/Aiden names in general and cringed when I saw your post.
I've met both little girls and little boys with this name. In fact, I have recently met little girls named Aidyn and Kayden (not twins). I'm starting to wonder if the Aiden ending names are moving over to the girls now - as if we don't have enough boys with this combo! (My son included so don't bother giving me grief if you used it too and are offended.)
I have a 13 yo neice named Jayden. That was the first I had ever heard of it- so I think of it as a girl's name. For a boy I think of Jaden as the spelling. When I read what Britney Spears named her son (Jayden) I thought- ick that's the girl's way of spelling it!
But I do like the name, but I do think its part of the -den trend.
Re: Jayden for a girl name?
You are going to get slack for doing the y thing....
However, I love it!
IMO, jaden is a boy's name. i don't think it's terrible for a girl, but it's more masculine than feminine to me.

I don't really like the name that much but I've always thought of it more as a girl's name, even though I know both boys and girls with the name.
I MUCH prefer the name Jada or Jade. Just my opinion.
This. Double Ick.
Sorry - I have to say ditto this also. GL!

I think Jayden is a fairly unisex name.
I also think the whole Jayden/Hayden/Aiden/Braden/Caden thing is overdone, but it's not a terrible name in and of itself.
