I feel like this is one of my biggest concerns these days - the timing of active labor beginning for me.
I am SO tired at night when it's time to go to bed, just exhausted from a full day - and I always think lately, what if I were to go into labor at this time of night? You're ready to go to sleep but then instead you have to embark on the hugest work of your life!
I feel like I'll be in such better shape for labor if it happens early in the day! I know I have no control over it, obviously, but it's a major worry!
Re: Are you worried about timing of labor?
adrenaline, girl...
and if you are that tired and can sleep, go for it
That's what I was going to say. Adrenaline will definitely keep you going.
?
Exactly this!
This is one of the reasons DH wanted me to take off work one week earlier than planned. I was hoping to work up until a couple of days before my due date but when we found out I progressed to 2cm yesterday he freaked out. I tried explaining to him that I could be at this stage for a while but he wouldn't have it. I also come home from work feeling exhausted.
But at least I'll get some last minute things done and feel better prepared.
I wouldn't say I'm "worried" about it...but I know that it would be ideal to start active labor sometime mid morning, and have the baby by bed time that night! Wishful thinking, I know. But I hear you...so tired by the end of the night that I can barely get my butt up the stairs. Hope that adrenaline that everyone speaks of sure does the trick if our timing isn't perfect!
YES! I had a first labor the first time so I am also worried about getting my DD situated and still making it to the hospital in time.
With my first DD, my water broke at 9pm, by the time we got to the hosp at 10pm my contrax were 2-3 minutes apart. I delviered at 4:39am.. so I was pushing all night, I was so exhausted. A disaster! Then they keep you awake all day - checking you, filling out the menu, talking to Drs, visitors, etc.
