Pregnant after 35

hi, new here and 44 :)

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking for a week or more and am finally feeling brave enough to say hello.

I am 44 and this is my third natural pregnancy in a year, the first two both ended in first trimester m/c.

This one is doing well so far, I am at 10 weeks, 2 day, heard a heartbeat of 174 in week 8!

Very hopeful, trying to maintain the excitement, but really hope I finally have the one that will stick :)

Thanks for all of the information you have been providing to me.

Hope to find some 40 + friends to "chat" with....

Happy and Healthy 9 months to everyone.

Re: hi, new here and 44 :)

  • BIG congratulations to you!!!  I'm sorry for your prior losses, you must be thrilled to have made it to 10 weeks!  Hearing the heartbeat is a great thing.

I'm 43 and am due to deliver my 2nd baby on Monday via c-section, so you're not alone!  I hope things continue to go well for you!

  • WOW, you are so close to meeting your new baby! How exciting, good luck with everything.

I am thrilled and scared to death at the same time....I have a NS on Monday and a CVS scheduled for the 28th, I think the fear factor will subside when I get positive results back :)

    Take care

  • Welcome to you!  I am 39 but when I deliver will be 40.. I am due in November.  I too had 2 previous miscarriages and through IVF #2 we were able to conceive this one.

Good luck to you and if you have any questions, please ask!

  • Hi Mama! Welcome--this is a great board--fun to lurk, but even more fun when you come out to play!! I am 41, DD#2 is due in December and I'll be 42 when she arrives. DD#1 is 3 years old and both of these pregnancies were natural and quick to happen. I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months--keep us posted on your tests and please stop by often to chat. You most definitely are not alone in being an "AMA" mom!! We are the best!!!
  • Hiya, congratulations and welcome!

I'm 41, and I'm also coming from a number of losses.  This is pregnancy eight for me...  one to term (24 years ago,) two ectopic, and the rest m/c.  I find it took me a really long time to relax and trust that everything would be okay, and even now I'm nervous!  Best of luck, and buckets of sticky dust!

  • I'm not 40 (I'm 36), but I want to congratulate and welcome you!  My SIL had her first baby a year ago at age 40.
  • Hi!

I am 43 and due in December. I have two little girls already but also had two early m/c within a year prior to this pg. Wishing you a healthy, happy pg!

  • Hi and welcome!  Hope this little one decides to stick around for ya!

And to heck with AMA crap.  Don't ya know that 40 is the new 38??  HA!!!   There's quite a few 40+ers on here who will be first time mommies... I'm 42 and d-day is coming WAY too fast!

  • Welcome and congratulations! Making it to 10 weeks is a great milestone and it sounds like your LO has a nice strong heartbeat.
  • Hi there! I am sorry for your losses. I am also REALLY excited that you're pregnant and doing well! I just had my first at 40 (less than a week ago). This is such an exciting time!
  • Thanks for the warm welcome!  Glad to know there are so many of us in the 40+ category :)

I am off to the genetic counselor this morning, I hear they try to scare you to death...should be interesting.

    Happy Friday!

  • Congratulations! This is an amazing group of women. I'm glad you are joining us.

I'm 40 and have a history of miscarriage also. I'm so sorry for your losses. Wishing you the best of luck for a very healthy and happy 9 months!

  • I'm thrilled and nervous to be expecting my first baby.  I turn 44 on Monday and the baby is due in early January.  It's nice to know there are so many "older" moms-to-be out there.

  • Hello & congratulations!

I have read that once the heartbeat is detected, the risk of mc drops significantly - I wish you all the best!

I'm 40 is this is my 1st pregnancy (natural) & can't believe I'm only 14 days away from my due date!
