2nd Trimester

As a first timer I'm really not sure

I know SOME of this "rumbling" around I feel has got to be her. Can I get an explaination as to how some of the early moving feels?

Re: As a first timer I'm really not sure

  • I find myself unable to describe the feeling. It's odd, really. Sometimes it feels like a little tugging from the inside. Other times it is like a wave of gas rippling through my abdomen. And other times it is kind of like water is swishing around in there, like if you were to gently rock a fishbowl that is half-filled with water. There is just no single term to describe it, and until you feel it, it is really hard to explain/understand.

I'm not sure that helped any. Except that when your LO does start moving regulalry, you will just know it is him/her.

  • I felt like I had a beta fish in my tummy
  • The first week or so, I'd feel like something was squirming around (I like the beta fish reference above!).  I only felt that a few times, though, and it was always really subtle.  Now, I'm definitely feeling little jabs.  Have you ever had a muscle in your thigh or eyelid start twitching on it's own?  It feels like that to me.

  • Definitely flutters and weird pinching or turning over.  Muscle twitches that aren't really muscles.
