Question for those who have the Angel Care Monitor

I was reading the manual that comes with it and it said not to use a fan or noise machine in the room because it can cause vibration and give a false sense of movement. Well we use both a fan and a noise machine in my DD's room, so now I wonder if the monitor is really working or not? Anyone else have this monitor and use a fan and/or a noise machine?

Re: Question for those who have the Angel Care Monitor

  • We use a ceiling fan and a sound machine in DS's room and it doesn't cause false movement.  You just have to play with the sensitivity control.

  • You can check the sensitivity by pulling LO out of the crib but leaving the monitor on. If it goes off, the fan isn't interfering.

    This.

I have a noise maker and keep DS fan on at night and we do not get false alarms, although we do not use it anymore now.

We did buy a piece of wood to go between the springs and the mattress since the sensor pad needed to be on something flat not the springs. We also had to adjust the?sensitive a few times to get it right, but once we did no false alarms.

Could not have slept without this.?

Well DUH! to me, right? I didn't even think of that! Gotta love the mommy brain :)

  • Yup- we have a fan in there.  And I can pick B up and change him and the monitor won't alert.  Just test it out that way.  Turn on the fan, the monitor, and leave the room (so there are no vibrations from your steps) and see if the alert goes off.  If it does, you are good- it isn't picking up the fan, if it is quiet- utoh:)
