Bread and butter?

What types of bread and butter do u use for your LOs? We're just getting into finger foods. I bought white bread...should I be buying whole wheat? And butter or margarine? Thanks

Re: Bread and butter?

  • I give DD whole wheat bread, because it is more nutritious and doesn't get gummy like white bread does (I think white would be a difficult food for a new eater). Also, I use butter or margarine, whatever is around.

  • We use whole wheat and butter.

He's tried all sorts of bread, though--he really likes rye, too.  He's a carb kind of guy;P

  • DS loves bread and will eat any kind so I give him whole wheat. He's also had white and potato bread and gobbles them all up

ETA: No butter or margarine. He'll eat the bread plain, but if I had to use one it would be butter.

  • We only buy wheat bread and real butter, so if I were to give DS b&b, that's what he'd get.

(Maybe TMI, but I think the fiber in wheat bread helps him stay more "regular.")

  • we buy wheat bread.

  • We buy white italian bread and Land-O-Lakes  whipped butter

  • I give my son rye, pumpernickel, and whole wheat bread.  I usually give him Smart Balance Light (that's all that we buy) or regular butter when at restaurants.
