I got a love letter from the IRS...

After they declared their love for me, they asked for $4,388 !!!

My tax guy is going to die....

    I got a letter yesterday too, they are only asking for $160 but still it was for 2007 taxes!

    Roses are red, violets are blue, you owe the government money, so sorry if you thought this poem would be funny.

    We got one of those letters too! GAH! I hate owing money :|

    Yeah.. our letter was for 2007 also. Thankfully we don't actually owe the money. Our tax guy just forgot to include the 1098 from our mortgage company, so they adjusted our return without the deduction for mortgage interest!!!! But, those 10 minutes before I figured it all out were the most frightening in my life.

    Send the letter to your tax guy - the IRS makes mistakes all the time, when I was in public accounting I wrote a ton letters disputing their claims that our clients owed more money and explaining why what we did was right and why they were wrong.  It may be fixable.
