2nd Trimester

I was beside myself...(small vent)

I was completely beside myself until about an hour ago...  I hadn't felt our LO move for about 3 days and I had been feeling movement everyday since 15 weeks so it freaked me out.  I called the dr last night at 10pm and they never called back.  So this morning I called the office first thing and they said you should have gone to the ER last night.  They told me to come in ASAP because apparently you should only wait 24 hours and if you feel no movement then call but not to worry it could be normal.  Well thanks...you tell me I should've gone to the ER but don't worry it could be normal.  Needless to say I hurried into the office and they hooked me up and I was able to hear our LO heartbeat 148 bpm and hear movement.  The doctor believes the baby is facing my back which is why it was hard to find the heartbeat at first and why i'm not feeling the movement when the baby moves.  Huge sigh of relief.  I'm so thankful our LO is doing great.  Hope you ladies are having a less eventful day!

  • I can't believe they would tell you that you should have gone to the ER for that.  You are still very early and it is very common to not feel movement everyday this early.  I am just starting to feel it everyday and I really have to pay attention to notice it.

That's what I'm wondering. I didn't even feel any movement at all at 19 weeks....not even flutters.

There was a girl yesterday who was 18 weeks 6 days and hadn't felt movement in 2 days and her DR made her go to the ER. I think its standard that if you feel LO everyday and don't for more than 24 hours to make a trip to the ER

I have had one day where I didn't feel LO so I got my at home doppler out found his heartbeat and felt better.

  • So glad to hear that everything is ok.
