The Weirdest Complaint In 6-12 History

and if you're a hater i suggest you hate elsewhere.

since giving birth to Hannie i have lost a ridiculous amount of weight.  when i came back to work i purchased a whole new wardrobe to accomodate my new body (10P, larger breasts, wider hips).  NOW even my pre-pregnancy pants (8P) are too loose.  none of my bras fit anymore and have loose material at the tops of the bra.

i can only attribute this dramatic weight loss to the fact that i hardly ate the first 6 weeks of her life due to anxiety, coupled with an awful stomach virus i got several weeks ago.

my boss just told me that if i lose any more weight she's going to start force feeding me.  i told her i'm eating more now than i ever have.  lots of carbs, lots of protein.  i'm no more active than i used to be.  is it possible to have your metabolism go on overdrive or does this sound like something serious?

  • Not trying to scare you or anything, but unexpected weight loss like that is something I'd mention to your GP.

  • Are you BF? If so that can have a huge impact for some women. I BF and had thyriod imbalance issues all at the same time and lost an extra 30 pounds beyound babyweight. Sadly, now that I am not BF and my thyriod has stabalized I have gained some of it back but I am still not the size I was before pregnancy by far.
  • i wish my metabolism had gone into overdrive.

i dunno, if it were me i'd go talk to my dr for the sole fact that i'm a hypochondriac.

  • Having a baby does a whole number on your hormones, etc, so it is possible that your metabolism has gone haywire.  You might want to talk to your doctor about it, maybe they can do some blood work to see if there is something up.  Meanwhile, send a bit of whatever it is to me, because while I love my body right now, I wouldn't mind losing another 10 lbs.  :D
  • I would mention it to the dr., it could be your thyroid. Do you have any other symptoms?

Ditto Phish. Just give your Dr a call :)

Oh and also pick up some hotpants. I mean, if you're gonna be skinnay you might as well show it off before you find out you have a tapeworm.

  • thanks ladies!  i have my annual exam with my OB/Gyn next month and will talk to her then.  i don't have a GP at the moment as my employer has changed our insurance to The Worst Possible Insurance On The Planet.  my regular GP does not accept that type and i'm currently searching for another doc.

i currently have no other symptoms.  i feel great other than the crazy weight loss.  a little tired maybe, but i attribute that to working full time and keeping up with an infant, a husband, a house, and 4 pets.

  • Yeah, I'd get your thyroid checked.

  • we can no longer get together over the holidays on principle.
  • well, since everyone else was compassionate and recommended talking to your Dr., I'll just say "You Suck!" (sorry, just the jealousy coming out!)
