3rd Trimester

Called my doc...

She said if I have 5 or more of these "pains" to head to L&D so now I'm oanicing cause I'm at 4 in 20 minutes without moving at all. Out of morbid curiosity b/c i like to be prepared for worst-case scenario here, does anyone know anybody who has given birth at 29 weeks and if the baby was ok or not? DH is on his way over now and I think he's gonna take me whether I feel like I need to go or not. Nausia is def getting worse too... blech.

  • I would love to be able to reassure you with an "it's normal," but I know you are still going to be paranoid about it!  Not saying that in a mean way, but I feel as though any odd sensation is crazy to us and it's always better to err on the side of caution.

The pains you are feeling are most likely LO hitting your cervix and, unfortunately, something you will encounter many more times until delivery.  I was freaked the 1st time I experience a round of these and called my doctor who assured me it was totally normal.

Good luck regardless of what you do:-)

  • from what i have read if your having contractions they will most likely give you something to stop it and sometimes will also give you a shot of steriods to help with babies lung development. :)

good luck please keep us posted!!!

  • Chances are they would try to stop your contractions and keep a close eye on you, so this might not mean imminent delivery.

You might want to check 0-6 or something, too, for more responses and experiences. =)

    Good luck, hon!!

  • My aunt was born at 28 weeks and she is really healthy and has 2 kids of her own since. And medicine has come along way from 40 yrs ago.
  • I had my son at 29 weeks and he is a crazy 2 year old!! It's been a long hard road but he's perfect now. We spent 47 days in the NICU! I hope everything turns out okay. Keep us posted!!
