My newborn will not sleep at night. She either cries and cries and cries all night long or has her eyes WIDE OPEN and wants to be held constantly. I haven't slept in three days. My two year old cries if you so much as hint at saying "no" to one of his requests. Then, his loud crying wakes DD up. I can't wait for DD to be over this newborn period. I'm losing my mind.
Re: I'm losing my fcuking mind.
((hugs)) hang in there!
are you open to cosleeping? that might help. I do it b/c I'm too lazy and tired to be up all damn night.

Have DH stay up with her tonight and get some sleep. You need it. Don't ask him to stay up.. tell him! If you need to.. have a heart to heart about it. Sometimes if I ask, DH thinks that the problem is not as serious as it really is. That's why I said tell him. Hang in there.?
I'm really sorry. can you pick up/put down? sometimes i had to do it a LOT in one night but once he sort of knew I was going to comfort him, he was good. I didn't have to do any major CIO until about 7mo. Also, what about reflux or other medical issues? Can you prop her up or keep her elevated after a feeding (or meds)?
as for the 2 yr old -- honestly, it sucks but I've learned early to let him cry or go into time out --- we might have a bad phase for a week or more. but in the long run, you have a lot more happiness and good behavior. I know that is VERY hard to do when you have a newborn and you are tired as hell...hang in there.
Her kid is 2 WEEKS old.
ok. thanks for letting me know. I did pu/pd super early and it worked for me (e.g. comforted DS and well as the bonus of comforting me not to have a crying baby), but of course, different things work for different babies/families.
