3rd Trimester

Seriously stressed...cant stop thinking about it....

I cant stop thinking about having to now take the 3 hour glucose test.  Stressing that I'm going to feel like crap the entire time while having it done and then having to wait to find out if I passed or didnt pass.....and then if I fail it what I'm going to have to do to fix it!!! GRRRRRRRR - help!! Is it Friday yet???

Sorry for the super long and annoying vent!!

  • I've had it 5 times in my life now.  Honestly the worst part is the boredom of sitting there.

i have to take it on friday a.m. too - i was supposed to do it today, but i rescheduled so they could request a finger prick test method from my OB instead of 4 different needles. i'm glad i will probably just get to do finger pricks, but i wish i didnt have to put it off until friday. i am dreading it and just want to get it OVER with. atleast with finger pricks, i'll know right then and there if i passed or failed.... thank god. i hate stressing over waiting for test results - especially over a weekend - NOT fun.

    hugs!

  • Bring a book... its seriously not a big deal. Also stress can make your Blood Sugar higher so you should prob stop.

  • I was pretty worried about getting sick during the test, but I took a gravol beforehand and honestly felt fine, regardless of the empty stomach. And I passed, which was quite the relief. I spent way too much time eating next to nothing and having to restrict my diet would have been heartbreaking. You really learn to appreciate food when you can't stomach it for months on end.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Try to relax about it (I know, easier said than done) and you'll handle it better when the time comes. GL!

I went early in the morning and the nurses gave me an unused exam room to sleep in inbetween tests. I dont know what I would have done otherwise.
