S/O Paci Question: What do you call it?

My family has always called pacifiers binkies, binks, or Bs.

Re: S/O Paci Question: What do you call it?

  • I used to watch a little girl that I fell in love with... She called them Bippies.  I have called them Bippies ever since.

  • Pacifier or paci. I think that's pretty much it.

To me, a "binki" is a blanket for some reason.

  • I personally can't stand the term "binki."

For lack of anything else that I like, I will probably call it a "paci"

  • Probably paci or binky. ss used to call it his plugy. I hated that. It just sounded like his mom was giving it to him for the complete wrong reason.

  • I think I called it a "pucky" and my sister called them "suckers" for my niece.

  • We always called it a pacifier or paci.  DS, for some unknown reason, referred to it as a "na-na."

  • Pacifiers.

I was not raised in a cutsey family and I hope to continue that. I will try to use the correct terms for everything.

  • My family has always called in Nuk... I think I want to call it a Pass. My friends little boy called it that, and I thought it was cute!

  • Personally, I can't stand the name "binky".  I'll call it a "pacifier" as I have my whole life, through lots of siblings, cousins, and years of nannying... I never tired of calling it by it's name, the pacifier.

YES!!!!!!!  My thoughts EXACTLY...and I'd like to add...I absolutly can not stand nicknames for pacifiers...for some reason it drives me crazy!  Usually things like this do not bug me EVER...but this is one thing that does.

  • I was never around pacifiers (my mom didn't allow us to have them) so I only know them as pacifiers.
  • pacifier.  no nicknames here.  although I have friends who call them binkies and other friends (from Europe) who call them dummies.

  • We call it binkster.  We call blankies "lovies"
  • We called them nuk's (like the brand), until DD started calling them nuk-kies.  Then, she just started calling them "keys."

Then, to get her to stop using it, we called it a stinky. :)

  • We call it a Pa. (My 3 year old coined the term back when she was around 1 and it has just stuck)

  • Depends - for the most part pacifiers or pacis.  Some in fam call it a binky.  The big one when we were all small was "goy."  My uncle, a few years older than I, used to make a noise that sounded like "goygoygoy" when he was sucking on it so his siblings referred to it as his goy.  It stuck for me and the next several grandchildren but drifted away as we got to grandkids, the next generation (that is what we older set refer to the cousins who are young enough to be our kids as)

    binky or bobo

    Bobo

  • We call it a Bink.  It's funny, I can understand how this would sound grating to someone else because I find it annoying when others call it a paci or anything else.
  • We always called them a nuk because that is the brand we use.
