Go for it! DS will be 3 months when we go to Jamaica on the 12th for our honeymoon. He also went on his first flight at 4 weeks old (not sure if you planned on bringing lo).
If not, for me personally, I couldn't imagine leaving DD at 6 weeks. She was so little, plus I was breastfeeding, so I couldn't imagine pumping enough milk to last several days.
If you are planning on bringing LO, I'm not sure how much of a vacation it would be. My DD was getting up to eat every couple of hours at 6 weeks, so I was a zombie.

I wouldn't do it. I'd be to stressed, and you'd have to pack so much_shit. If you're BFing, it would be a huge challenge. If you're bottle feeding, it would also be a huge challenge.
I would do it, but I think it depends on your particular LO. I flew with DD when she was 7 weeks and again when she was 9 weeks and had no problems. She just wanted to snuggle on my chest the whole time. I made sure to feed her before each flight and then she passed right out. Now that she is more alert and interested in her surroundings I think it would be a bit more difficult, but I definitely would have at that age. On the other hand, if you have a colicy baby, then that would be a totally different story.
Does your pedi have any recommendations on travel? My pedi said that she normally doesn't recommend travel before 6 weeks.
It depends on your LO's temperament. easy baby? Super fussy baby?
If i had the chance to go to hawaii when DS was 6 weeks old, I totally would have done it! He was so easy and laid back at 6 weeks. Taking him now that he is older would be much hard. GL!
Re: so DH wants to...
