When DS was in the nicu at Children's hospital one of the therapists came to talk to us, later I found out DH was very nervous.  He felt we were being interviewed to see if we were going to be able to take DS home.  =(  We wanted to bring him home soo badly.  As soon as he was healthy enough.  You have such a hard job, talking to people at their very most vulnerable of moments.  I'm sure you've had to help some people through some very hard times.  Is it going to be more difficult now that you have your own?

I felt the same way until I went back. Now I love love love it! It gives me a chance to miss him! I work full time, which is only 3 days a week, but 12 hour shifts. It gives me a chance to get out and do something for myself! Someday I'd like to switch to part time (2 days a week) so we'll see.

It is much harder! I thought I'd be ok, but when something goes wrong at work I have to call and check on M. It's so rewarding though, seeing them get better and getting to go home! That's the best feeling in the world, knowing you helped them get to that point! On the other hand, being around the babies all the time makes me want another baby, which we don't need right now :) Later, but not right now! We have our hands full.

Thanks...this gives me hope that I might survive.  I have to work 5 days, but the hours aren't bad...and there's always next summer to look forward to I suppose.  Part time would be ideal for me too, but right now it's just not an option for us.  Maybe someday.
