Alright ladies.... I NEED HELP!!!!!! i am throwing my best friend a baby shower in January! She isnt finding out whether she is having a boy or a girl so i picked a rubber duck theme since its pretty neutral. That is all that i have figured out! I am not very creative so even picking a theme is a pretty big step for me. My issues are figuring out what to do for favors, food, gifts, games, oh yeah and did i mention pleasing the grandma to be who i receive at least 5 text messages a week telling me what i could/should do for everything. i really want to do this without doing everything that grandma to be is telling me to do so thats where all of your advice comes in!!! HELP!!!!!! all ideas are welcome! thanks!

Check out oriental trading too. I'm sorry I didn't make clicky links.I recently went to an absolutely adorable rubber duckie themed baby shower. They used blue jello with rubber duckies on top for centerpieces. They put them in those cake stands you can invert to make a punch bowl (Anchor Hocking at Target), but I'm sure your could use trifle bowl (they're like $10 at BB&B and you could use a coupon). They tied a ribbon around the base and they were adorable.
They had duckie shaped sugar cookies for favors. Food was soups and salads (pasta, regular, chicken, egg). We made sandwiches. It was at the grandma to be's house. They had a really cute cake with rubber duckies on top. For games, the hostess had everybody write their names on the bottom of a rubber duckie in permanent marker and floated them in a baby bath tub she had bought for the mom to be. Mom pulled a duckie every couple of gifts for a door prize. It was nice because it wasn't an annoying shower game, but it kept the gift opening going.
Hope that helps!
*stashes that one for future hosting ideas* Thanks! WAY CUTE!!
I second the motion on the Oriental Trading site for duckies in bulk!

Search for baby shower duck theme/invites/decor/etc. There's so much stuff there!
You can always change the color of the rubber ducky to make it gender neutral! You can get rubber duckies at Walmart for $.97 each and they have a ton of different colors.
I also made rubber ducky sugar cookies for favors (cookie cutter was $.50 at Micheals) and also bought a rubber ducky Wilton candy mold to make garnishes for the cake and cupcakes. They were time consuming but I think they turned out GREAT!
