Have we talked about the ACORN videos?

First - Surprise

Second - I can't believe that a 20 yo girl has been able to stir up all of this drama.  I am so proud of her.  It makes me feel lazy for just sitting on my butt and not doing anything but complain about the things that I disagree with.  Not that I'd be doing undercover reporting, but I could at least write my Congressman more often and get involved at a local level.

    She and the guy she did this with have basically been able to turn ACORN upside down and they are in danger of losing funding.  A 20 yo girl.

    My dh is obsessed with this tonight. A 20 year old girl and a guy posing as her pimp go into an ACORN office and start talking about how they need a place so they can open a brothel.  The ACORN working asks them lots of questions including how they are going to cover it up and doesn't bat an eye when they say the just got a shipment of under age girls from some other country.  I'm sure if you google it you can find the footage.

    it just makes me sad, because if ACORN did what their stated purpose was, they would do so much good in lower-income communities.  But they have been riddled with scandal and while I don't think everyone involved is in it for the wrong reasons, when you have this much scandal and at this level, it's time to scrap the program because it is doing way more harm than good.
