how rude!!!

here's the story. i took wren out for her second outing of her life... some people should really get a clue.

oh, and some pictures of coming home a few days ago! it's been so nice to have her here... even with all the extra tubes and wires... :)

Re: how rude!!!

  • you are a brave woman!  for fear of germs, the monitor, the O2, etc., Stella has only left the house with us to go for daily walks & to go to her pediatrician appointments.  no trips to target for us!  I can't believe the woman that though she was a doll though.

I never got back to you on what diapers I use: BumGenius XSs, a few Kissaluv size 0s, some prefolds with snappis & thirsties covers.  We also use re-usable wipes.  Not a huge fan of the Kissaluvs since they are so bulky but we love the BumGenius XSs.

Let me know if you have other questions, about anything!

  • OMFG what an a-hole! I am so sorry you had to deal with that.  She obviously is ignorant and hopefully will think next time before speaking, although probably not.  Baby looks great!  We always had to go out to, for my mental health I could not stay in...never went out long but enough for me to stay sane :)
  • LOL! This same thing happened to me right after Emma came home. I was in a baby store buying a nursing cover and some lady saw me and said to her friend "is that a doll?" Yep. I'm 30 years old and carrying my doll around. Morons!!

  • We brought Evan home weighing only 3lbs 8oz and we took the twins with us out to a local restaurant for dinner because we had family visiting.  A lady at the table behind me asked me if he was real baby.  Yeah, it took me a minute to realized how rude the question was but then when I looked at Evan I had to give her a pass because well....  He was really freaking tiny.  Even to my eyes.

The piece de resistance was that Evan needed to be changed so I pulled him out of his bucket car seat and heard lots (I mean probably every person in the 30 feet around us) intakes of breath, some "oh my gods", and "what a tiny baby".   It was our first family dinner out, and it wasn't bad enough that we had twins (like a neon sign for unwanted attention)  but then my mini-baby is a show.  Don't really miss those experiences.

But at least they get bigger.
  • I honestly think there should be about a 15 second delay for brains to catch up with mouths...it would the world a much better place.

I love the pic of Wren and daddy...I just love babies sleeping with their daddies!

  • lol @ performance art! :)

Great blog, btw. Congrats on taking your little girl home! She is BEAUTIFUL!

  • We've gotten this several times!! Do people even understand how DUMB they sound?

The first time was at the dog park and Savy was in her Ergo baby carrier. A guy came right up to me and was all "Oh wow, is that a baby doll? Wait, is that a real live baby?!" Dumbass.

Then we just got it again yesterday (also at Target!). We were in the bathroom and I was changing her diaper on the little changing table... a woman walked by us and did a double take, "Is that a baby doll!?" Yes. I am a grown woman, playing house, IN PUBLIC IN A TARGET STORE, and changing my lovely baby doll on a real changing table. Weirdo. I just said, "Weeeell, she's *my* baby doll." Stick out tongue

Hang in there, people just have no filters!
