We bedshare...dd between me and rail. She is ten months. When can I put her inbetween me and my husband? When are blankets allowed?? I know therei s not one right answer, but just wondering what you all did.
We started putting her in the middle around 10 months. We've always slept with a light blanket up to our waist but started pulling it up a bit higher after a year. DD won't have it. Doesn't matter how deep of a sleep she's in - if she feels a blanket on her she WILL kick it off. lol
He has been in the middle since he could sit up on his own, around 9 months or so.
As for the blanket, yeah right. He won't keep one on, at all. If one happens to fall on him, there is a big kicking contest and I get to wake up to enjoy it. He has recently started to experiment during the day with blankets, like carrying a queen size quilt around the house, so who knows what will happen in the near future.
I don't know, maybe some protective instinct, for fight or flight.
Same instinct that keeps one hand or foot on momma if she isn't going to hold me all night long. Of course it's usually the appendage with the sharpest nail.
She slept b/t us since we started at 6 months, and started pulling up just the sheet about a year, but like all the other babies kicks them off more often than not. Doing this, however, depends on how aware your DH is of your DD. If he's an extremely heavy sleeper, I wouldn't risk it.

I have a blanket hater too! The only way I can get him to not kick it off is if I am under there with him and he is turned into me. Even then, he kicks it off and I cover him to his waist after he falls asleep.
DS has slept between us since he was about 4 months. We have a king size bed and DS sleeps snuggled against me. I lay on my side with my bottom arm outstretched toward my H. If my H were to roll near us, he would end up on my arm before DS. I am a very light sleeper, that would wake me immediately. DH is also very aware in his sleep. He is a deep sleeper but in the 4 months we have done this, he has never come near us.
DS has been sleeping between both of us pretty much since the beginning (or atleast since I learned how to bf laying down!). As long as DH knows he is there (as in DH doesn't fall asleep before we go to bed) we don't have a problem.
I've done it pretty much since the start too. I had my DS on my side and now that he's rolling he is in the middle. My DH and I acutally have seperate blankets and I loosly swaddle my DS (with his feet un-tucked.) If he gets hot, he wriggles out of it.
