How long do gumballs stay fresh?

Stupidest question ever:

For my shower favors, we made a donation to a local charity that provides meals to hungry children. We filled blue organza bags with gumballs and are attaching a letter from the baby thanking our guests as well as explaining about the donation. I never thought of waiting to make the favors last minute and am now wondering if the gumballs will get old? They are all complete and my shower is on Sunday. I'm unable to find an answer online.

Maybe you could just put them in a large bowl with a snap lid? It keeps food fresh longer, so it should work on gumballs...

Considering they probably sit in those 25cent dispensers at the mall for decades I'm guessing your good! LOL I think they have pretty long shelf life.

That is a very nice idea! Gumballs don't really go stale for a LONG time! I have a gumball machine with some that have been in there for a year and they are fine!!

I never even thought of the gumballs sitting in machines forever. I just didn't want them to get hard and old tasting. I think I will put them in a container with a lid just to be sure.
