Insurance to pay for nursing pump!!!

I'm so excited, through another pregnant lady at work I found out that our insurance will pay 100% for a new electric breast pump. I contacted my BCBS benefits rep to double check that it wasn't only for certain conditions and they confirmed that they would cover it for any reason as long as it's bought at a medical supply store. The other girl in my office got the new Medela Freestyle and didn't have to pay anything. I'm so excited, it will save us so much I can't believe it. YAY!!! One less thing to have to purchase :)

  • I have an HSA account with BC/BS, I'm going to call them and ask. I'm curious :)
  • Generally, whether or not it is covered is based on your/DH's employer's policy with the insurer.  For instance, my company offers breast pumps with a co-pay but it does not go through my insurance.  Check with your insurance and your company to see if they offer anything.  GL!
  • That is freakin awesome. I have MediCal and am hoping the same happens for me
